Thank you for your interest in applying for a tutoring position at PRIOR Education, Australia's leading HSC tuition college.

Here are the personal qualities we are looking for:

• a superb knowledge and understanding of your subject material
• effective communication skills
• strong mentoring and leadership qualities
• the ability to provide support, guidance and encouragement to students who are aiming for excellence or experiencing difficulties with their studies.

You need to have scored in the top bands for at least two of the following in your HSC:

• HSC Mathematics (Extension 2)
• HSC Mathematics (Extension 1)
• HSC Physics
• HSC Chemistry

Alternatively, you need to have scored in the top bands for both of the following in your HSC:

• HSC English (Advanced)
• HSC English (Extension 1)

The first stage in your application is to submit your C.V. and letter of application, including your HSC results and ATAR or UAI. If you pass this stage, you will sit a 3 hour written test for each subject you wish to tutor. If you pass these written tests, we will invite you to an interview, where you will be asked to demonstrate your ability to explain concepts in a clear and engaging manner.

After completing this demonstration, a member of our Student Services team will inform you of the outcome of your application. If you have been successful, we will organise your training and find out your availability for shifts. Tutoring shifts are available seven days a week during school terms and there is a minimum commitment of six hours per week.
